I am afraid, yet intrigued

of the undercurrent

Pulsing away.

It’s been years since I felt it

Plugged in, turned on

To the crackles within. My source.

You are like a jump lead

Electrifying my heart, my body

Encouraging me to let the river flow through, and not be afraid.

But I am afraid

The force seems unyielding

And yet tantalising

Dare I surrender

To the wave, as it ripples through me?

I must.
