Unknowing

I honour the place
Where the wild flowers grow
From the cracks of despair,
New life forms.

I honour the moments
That felt so heavy to carry
To know that it must mean something,
It revealed more than I knew.

I honour the tiny shred of hope
The chink of light in the darkness
As thin as a gossamer thread,
So hard to focus on.

I honour the gradual unfolding
That forced me to be patient
It said wait, baby, you’ll see,
What this is all for.

I honour this sculpting
The remodelling of my soul like clay
That was drastic and uncomfortable,
But was necessary for what was in store.

You see you never know
That where you’re heading isn’t off course
And if you just have a little faith
You’ll understand in time why it took place.

It’s only in resisting that we suffer
When we cling onto what we knew
Scared of the future, we need to relax
The universe is making us anew

So if things break and crumble
And you think what the fucks going on
Hold tight, it will be revealed
It was what you needed all along.
