How To Stop Blocking Your Inspiration
This week, I hit a brick wall.
Ordinarily, writing inspiration would come into my consciousness, like a bubble floating on the wind. I would catch it and ta-da! Write an article.
Simples.
Except right this very second, when I want to write an article, I’m not feeling inspired.
In fact, in this very moment, I can’t think of anything at all to write about, other than what I’ve already published.
It’s the scary figure that lurks in every writers mind — the writer’s block.
It’s not something that happens very often, so I gave it some thought as to why.
I’ve realised that in the last two weeks, I haven’t given my mind a rest.
I’ve been in the process of moving, so every day has been crammed with ‘to-do’ lists.
My time has been spent trying to tick off as many actions as I could each day, to minimise my mental load so I can settle into a new chapter.
Inspiration has been far away from me in these moments.
What I’ve realised is when you’re too caught up in your ‘to-do’ list, inspiration will be no where to be seen.
