Instagram Stories are now basically the new reality TV, with over 250 million daily viewers. You can get a new episode every day, and each one is curated by the author. Of course, the best stories are the ones that brighten your day, make you laugh, and make life that bit easier.
You want funny Instagram stories, right? The ones that make you laugh out loud on the tube or bus, or make you smile as you’re eating your breakfast.
With that in mind, I’ve collated a few here.
I think it’s no surprise that these ladies are mostly writers. They know a good story when they see one, and are adept at transforming a mundane, regular day into something quite hilarious.

Dawn O’Porter had a meteoric rise in followers when she started doing her Instagram stories, which currently reach over 270,000 viewers. Her self-deprecating humour and ability to talk to the viewer in a hushed, confidential way makes you feel like you’re a friend hearing personal and wholly private anecdotes. She tells multiple stories about the relationship between her and her cat. Strangely compelling.
Sharing with viewers that a woman on the phone thought her name was ‘Dog’, not ‘Dawn’.
